March 2007 Net Worth Report (+8,612)
We went from last month’s pathetic performance to the best net worth increase ever recorded on the site! A couple things happened this month that really increased our net worth:
- The $4,800 tax refund.
- March was one of the months that my wife gets paid 3 times instead of the normal 2.
- Moderate gains in the market accounted for an increase of about $800.
All in all, I’m pretty happy with this number, especially considering that March was a higher than normal expense month. We purchased a few items of furniture for the kids’ rooms and exceeded our budget slightly in both dining and gas expenses.
So far, our monthly net worth increase in 2007 has averaged about $3,800 a month. I don’t expect this number to continue, but it certainly looks good on paper. I expect April to be a fairly low increase due to local taxes and a $315 account bill due.
