October 2008 Net Worth Report (-$12,775)
As expected, another killer month. All losses were accounted by the stock market “adjustment”. However, I do feel that the worst is over and that the DJIA will hover around 8700 +- 10% for the next year. For this reason, I’ll hopefully be buying more index funds. I’ll also be hoarding cash beginning in 2009. I’m not comfortable with our emergency funds and would like to see an increase of about $5,000 in that area over the next 6 months.
Our spending continues to be in-line with what I expect it to be. My family has decided to take it easy on Christmas spending this year, not necessarily because of the economy, but rather because of our “accumulation of junk” since the kids have been born.
